Beat detect
This interactive sketch interprets video streaming from a webcam through a system that alters the RGB values of the video according to changes in the beats in a piece of music. Changing the music and some of the parameters of the RGB values results in vastly different visual qualities. The code records motion as well as changes in color, combining them into compositions of incredible variety. This project only works within the Processing environment with some very specific libraries installed so I am showing a recorded movie that repeats the musical composition a few times. The composition looks different each time it plays. This version of the video was recorded on a PC using a very old, unsupported webcam that fragmented the video into a moving pattern. The sound composition is a fragment of "Vox 5" by Trevor Wishart.
